View Vacancy -- Day Nursery Childcare Worker
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified childcare worker to join the Rhondda Cynon Taf Council's day nursery in Pontypridd. It is an ideal opportunity for a competent and experienced childcare worker to join our team from 2021 onwards. In addition to the day nursery element, the setting also supports Flying Start placements for eligible children from the local area. The nursery has lovely facilities that are regularly updated and refreshed, making it a stimulating environment for both children and staff.
The post is required for 5 days per week, 5.5 hours per day, working either morning shifts of 7:30am - 13:00, or afternoon shifts of 12:30 - 18:00, ensuring a clear handover between staff for the safety of our children. Rotas are produced at least two weeks in advance to allow staff the opportunity to plan their personal commitments.
The Council is passionate about supporting it's employees and therefore, the successful candidate will be able to take part in a variety of training and professional development opportunities as part of their role.
A short walk from the main train station, it is an attractive option for someone looking for a new challenge in childcare.
Protecting children and vulnerable adults is a core responsibility of all staff appointed to the Council.
In addition to this safeguarding responsibility, the successful applicant for this role will also be subject to an enhanced disclosure and barring service check.
The Council values diversity in its workforce. We are committed to ensuring that no unlawful discrimination occurs in the recruitment and selection process on the grounds of age, sex, race, disability, sexual orientation, transgender, including those with non-binary identities, religion or belief or pregnancy and maternity. We offer a number of staff networks for employees including the Allies Network, a Disability and Carers Network and Perthyn our LGBTQ+ Network.
