We have an exciting opportunity for Occupational Therapists to join our ACE Team in Rhondda Cynon Taff. The team base is in Ty Elai, near Tonypandy, and we cover the whole of RCT utilising agile/home working.

As part of the progressive and forward thinking Short Term Services, including Reablement, Support@Home, Sensory and Short Term Care and Support Teams, the ACE Team work closely with their colleagues to achieve positive outcomes for people. You will be joining an established and experienced team who will be able to support you in making the most of this opportunity.

Community Occupational Therapists in this team are expected to be a proactive team players who can recognise and draw on the wealth of experience available to them within Short Term Services and have the enthusiasm to play an active role in delivering a high quality service. A sound value base, excellent communication skills and a person-centred approach are essential.

Your principal duties will involve assessing individuals, as per the Social Services and Well Being Act (2014) to support independence. In addition the ACE team is part of a new and transformative model of care and support, called Stay Well@home, funded by the Welsh Government Transformation Grant, which responds to requests for support from Community Professionals, to enable people to stay at home and not have to go to hospital. The role of the Occupational Therapist is integral to this and involves providing advice, Moving and Handling assessments and the provision of equipment. As an Occupational Therapist in this team you will be required to take part in a rota to cover the service 8:30am – 8pm, 7 days a week (including Bank Holidays). 

You will need to be OT qualified and registered with the HCPC. Experience of the Disabled Facilities Grant process would be valuable but not essential as in house training will be provided. Applications from both experienced and newly qualified OT's are welcome and you will have the opportunity to develop a range of clinical skills in a supportive environment. Regular supervision, coaching and mentoring will be provided by a Senior Occupational Therapist.
