Community Activator: Super-Agers (1 x 37 hours or 2 x 20 hours)

Fixed Term Until October 31st 2021 (24 Months)

The Super-Agers project is funded by the Healthy and Active Fund until March 2022. It is a partnership project between Bridged, RCT and Merthyr Councils and this post/posts cover the RCT and Merthyr geographic area. The project aims to develop new sustainable community physical activity opportunities for older people, through developing and engaging community volunteers.

An exciting new role of a Community Activator(s) is required to ensure the following project targets for the RCT/Merthyr area are achieved:

  • Work with 10 community hubs
  • Mentor 66 people to deliver activities
  • Train 80 activity leaders and community champions
  • Enable 13 people with disabilities to volunteer
  • Support delivery activities that engage 1,300 older people
  • Enable and support the delivery of 990 volunteer hours per annum.

The role will include working closely with the Health Development and Sport RCT Teams in conjunction with Merthyr CBC to deliver the Super-Agers project. Other duties will include the implementation of strict data and management protocols, including confidentiality and to assist in the scheme evaluation and data collection systems.
