The Council is committed to continuously improving frontline service delivery. This reflects the drive for more integrated service provision, increasing demands from the public, and the Council’s dedication to create a more accessible organisation with an ever-increasing positive relationship with local people.

A position has arisen, within the Customer Care Directorate, to prioritise, handle and action calls within our 24 hour Lifeline and Out Of Hours service.

You will receive Emergency Alarm calls from elderly and vulnerable clients and in line with processes and protocols will escalate as and when necessary. You will also be required to pro-actively contact service users, in line with a preventative approach to their health and well-being.

You will also receive emergency Council related calls outside normal working hours and you will escalate these calls to the necessary on call contractor for action, when deemed a genuine emergency.

As this is a 24 hour, 365 day a year service, you will work as part of a team rota. Your shifts will be provided to you every Friday, for the following week.

Excellent communication skills, particularly telephone techniques, are required. Effective use of ICT systems is also essential. Experience of working in a team and in a Contact Centre environment is also a requirement.

You will be an individual with a positive, can-do attitude and a desire to deliver outstanding customer service.

For more information please contact Natalie Jones (Deputy Contact Centre Manager) on (01443) 425051.

In view of the large number of Application Forms which are currently being submitted individual applications are not acknowledged. Consequently if you do not hear from us within four weeks of the closing date, please assume that your application is unsuccessful on this occasion.
