The Council is looking to recruit a Senior Health and Safety Assistant to support the work of the Corporate Health and Safety Team. The team is based within the Human Resources Division and provides a comprehensive health and safety service across the Council. The team is small and the successful applicant will need to be able to prioritise and manage a demanding workload, however, the role will give an excellent opportunity to develop your career in health and safety and will enable you to work in a wide range of service areas.

Applicants will need to have a NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) together with experience in:

  • providing health and safety advice and guidance;
  • the development of safety policies and procedures;
  • accident investigations;
  • the production of statistical reports.
