The Strategic Projects Section is responsible for the appraisal, design, construction, supervision and project management of a wide variety of exciting and challenging projects, including reclamation, drainage, ground stability, contaminated land and highway. The Strategic Projects section also has responsibility for Flood & Tips Risk Management and Traffic Management.

We are seeking to appoint a suitable person to assist primarily within the Flood Risk Management area of the service. The person will be able to contribute to the functions required under the Flood and Water Management Act 2010 by maintaining and developing databases, GIS layers and web based information. In addition, they will be required to assist with site investigations, surveys, appraisals, design and preparation of drawings where required. It is essential that applicants have a good knowledge of Geographical Information Systems with knowledge of water/environmental engineering and asset systems also being desirable. Experience in AutoCad, GIS systems and MS Office Software is essential and experience in surveying, environmental sampling and asset management is desirable.
