The Miskin Intervention Support Worker post is based at the Glyncornel Centre, and is part of a service that aims to promote placement stability for children and young people throughout the Rhondda Cynon Taf area who are experiencing difficulties in their lives. We have highly committed teams of staff who work in partnership with children, young people, their families and others to design and implement time-limited, intensive, specialist family focused evidence based interventions to children on the cusp of coming into care, children in care or who are already in care and need to return home.  

The team is looking for a highly motivated practitioner who would enjoy the challenge of direct working with children, young people and their families, being part of a team and who is committed to achieving best outcomes for children and young people. The successful applicants will ideally have the ability to win the trust and confidence of children, young people and their parents/carers, have excellent communication skills and have an imaginative and flexible approach and be able to ‘think outside the box’ when it comes to meeting the complex needs of some children, young people and their families/carers.

Experience of direct work with children, young people and their families/carers, as well as a flexible approach to working hours is essential, including evenings, weekends and residential trips when required.
