Rhondda Cynon Taf is pleased to offer opportunities for Senior Practitioner posts in the West & East Intensive Intervention Teams.

The intensive Intervention Service in RCT is divided into two areas, East and West. The West office is based in Tonypandy, Rhondda and the East office is based in Ty Trevithick, Abercynon. There are three Intensive Intervention teams, where the focus is on developing longer-term relationships with children, families and young people.

As a Senior Practitioner you will be expected to manage a defined caseload and work in a challenging yet supportive and rewarding team environment. You will be expected to take on a mentoring role where required with newly qualified practitioners and commit to your own development. Within this role you will be expected to deputise on occasion for the Team Manager. You will also receive regular informal and formal supervision and there are numerous and appropriate training opportunities available.

You should also possess a sound understanding of the practice implication of the Children’s Act, Social Services Wellbeing Act and other relevant legislation. You will be committed to anti oppressive practice and bring with you strong assessment, communication and planning skills. All our practitioners have the chance to influence the development of our work and are supported by an experienced Management Team both at Strategic and Operational levels.

We recognise that Social Work is professionally and personally challenging and demands considerable levels of skill, commitment, and enthusiasm. We offer a dedicated in house Learning and Development Centre which actively supports practitioners at each level to maintain their skills and Continuous Professional Development.

You must possess a recognised Social Work qualification, have 3 years post qualifying experience, be registered with Social Care Wales on appointment and have a proven track record of Social Work with children, young people, and their families.

For further information and informal discussion regarding these posts please contact Julie Evans, Service Manager West on (01443) 4245006 or Nicola Bowditch, Service Manager East on (01443) 444560.

Please note that whilst there is a closing date stated, this is an ongoing advert and suitable candidates will be invited to interview at regular intervals.
