Temporary Full Time

An opportunity has arisen in the Support @ Home (Intermediate Care and Reablement) for a temporary Occupational Therapist.

You will become part of the Support @ Home Team. The team is based in Ty Elai and provides service users with an opportunity to recover from ill health and prevent episodes of health deterioration where possible.

Sometimes following a spell in hospital, people can lose confidence and be worried about their safety and ability to cope at home. Intermediate Care Services offers service users reassurance and encouragement to maintain, regain or learn basic living skills, providing support to enable people to reach their full potential whilst preventing or reducing the need to move onto longer-term community services.

The post will be required to ensure that individuals are supported in the community through a 6 week programme to become as independent as possible. The service has the benefit of a variety of staff including Care Staff, supervisors, administrators, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA), and Assistant Therapy Practitioners (ATP) supported by a Team Lead.

You will be a qualified OT who has experience of providing Clinical supervision for staff or students. Ideally you will have proven experience in a community setting, however consideration will be given to candidates who have had community experience as part of their training or work experience. You will carry a case load and provide supervision and support for allocated members of staff, you will in turn receive supervision and support from the Team Manager. Full support, training and CPD opportunities will be provided for the successful candidate to develop skills and practice and to assist developing practice and information needs.

The service is going to be undergoing a change and there will be some occasional requirements to work evenings and Weekends, including bank holidays.

Enquiries for interested parties are welcomed and encouraged, for additional information or an informal discussion please contact – David Williams Clinical Lead on 01443 444650 or Su Lambert - Support @Home Manager on 01443 425462.

Please note that whilst there is a closing date stated, this is an ongoing advert and suitable candidates will be invited to interview at regular intervals.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL BE SUBJECT TO AN ENHANCED DISCLOSURE AND BARRING SERVICE CHECK.

In view of the large number of Application Forms which are currently being submitted individual applications are not acknowledged. Consequently if you do not hear from us within four weeks of the closing date, please assume that your application is unsuccessful on this occasion. In which case you are thanked for the interest you have shown in applying for a position within the Council.
