View Vacancy -- Armed Forces Covenant Liaison Officer

37 hours per week, fixed term for 2 years funded by the MoD Covenant Fund

We are seeking to employ a dedicated individual for this unique post within the Council to ensure that delivery of the Armed Forces Covenant is strengthened within Rhondda Cynon Taf and across 3 neighbouring local authorities which are the City of Cardiff Council, Merthyr Tydfil Council and the Vale of Glamorgan Council. The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise by the nation ensuring that those who serve or who have served, and their families, are treated fairly. Community covenants complement, at a local level, the Armed Forces Covenant.

You will be required to travel between the areas, with your main base being our offices in Clydach Vale, Tonypandy.

You will be committed to increasing awareness of the Armed Forces Covenant amongst the Armed Forces and civilian populations, across all 4 authorities as well as improving current service provision to the Armed Forces Community.

We are looking for an individual who has a significant understanding of the needs of the Armed Forces Community and the organisations that are operating locally to support them. You will need to demonstrate strong communication skills and be able to work both independently and collaboratively with partners to deliver the project.

We would particularly welcome applications from people who have previously had experience of working within the Armed Forces.
