Procurement Category Manager – Construction Frameworks
One of the largest local authorities in Wales is seeking to appoint a permanent Category Manager to join the Operational/Strategic Procurement team in Rhondda Cynon Taf. The role is responsible for developing, implementing and delivering a Procurement Category Management strategy for a number of Construction Frameworks and reports directly to the Head of Operational Procurement. The post holder will initially be required to procure and manage two major collaborative Construction Frameworks that are highly valued by South East Wales and other authorities and the wider Welsh Public sector.
The prime initial focus of the role of Procurement Category Manager – Construction Frameworks is on developing and managing these two frameworks (with the Schools and public Building Generation 2 framework due to be retendered in 2014/15) and there is also some involvement with other related duties ongoing with other construction contracts.
You must have a good background in stakeholder managements, contract tendering, contract management as well as strategy development and implementation. Any experience in the procurement of construction engineering and facilities contracts will be advantageous. The role will include managing all aspects of the tendering and contractual processes, managing a small team and substantial liaison with stakeholders across the wider public sector. The role has both procurement and construction aspects and involves working closely with the Service Director for Procurement to deliver these important and prestigious framework arrangements.
