Coliseum Theatre Manager

Part time – an average of 18.5 hours per week

Following recent service changes, Cultural Services is looking to recruit a part-time theatre manager for the Coliseum Theatre, Aberdare.  

Cultural Services consists of two theatres, the Coliseum, Aberdare and the Park & Dare, Treorchy, as well as an outreach Arts Development team which supports our audience development work.  The service leads on, and is part of, ArtsConnect, a collaboration of 5 local authority arts services within South Wales and is an Arts Council of Wales revenue funded organisation, recognised as being a Creative Hub.

The ideal applicant will be someone that shares our belief that the arts makes a positive contribution to the well-being and prosperity of both individuals and communities and that welcomes the opportunity to work in partnership with other Council Officers, arts officers in other local authorities as well as Artists and Arts Organisations across Wales.

As the theatre manager, you will be responsible for leading, managing and developing the Coliseum team, managing the theatre’s operations with support from other service personnel and be a key member of the service’s programming and audience development team.

The manager will be expected to work an average of 18.5 hours per week over a 4 week period on a rota basis in response to the demands of the programme.

The successful candidate will be expected to successfully undertake an enhanced DBS check.
