We are looking to recruit a Highways Inspector to the Highways Team to manage the safe and efficient delivery of frontline highways maintenance and construction services.

Applicants will require a good knowledge of Highway Maintenance and Construction activities and understand the Health and Safety legislation. 

The focus of the role will be on supporting the Highways Engineers, undertaking routine Highway inspection including providing works orders for Highways operational staff.

The applicant will need to provide and promote a high standard of customer care and have good local knowledge and awareness of community issues.

The permanent full-time position is based at Dinas Depot, Porth. Employment hours are 37 hours a week under the flexible working hours scheme, with 26 days annual leave (rising to 31 days after 5 years), and the opportunity to join the Local Government Pension Scheme and staff benefits card.

The successful applicant will be required to hold a full valid driving licence and be expected to travel between various sites within RCT. Access to a Council vehicle will be provided.
