An opportunity has arisen for a permanent part time 18-hour contract Night Residential Child Care Practitioner to join the team at Bryndar Children’s Home in Cwmdare, Aberdare.

The post holder will work with 5 vulnerable children and young people aged between 7 and 18 years old, in a trauma informed environment, by providing support to sustain routine in a nurturing environment, and support young people to develop social skills, within the local community and participate in activities.

The successful applicant will be accountable to the Registered Manager for the :-

  • Day-to-day arrangements of the young person’s care plan.
  • Positive contributions to the quality of the service.
  • Work as part of a team.
  • Be enthusiastic, approachable, child centred and caring.
  • Be responsible for your own learning and development.
  • To complete domestic duties.
  • To share in the practical activities necessary to maintain the home.
  • To promote the well being of residents by encouraging a healthy lifestyle, educational attainments and stimulating leisure activities.
  • You must be prepared to be flexible as the role will involve weekends and Bank holidays.
  • The hours of working will be 10.15pm to 7.15am with an option of extra hours.

You will be expected to hold or be prepared to work towards a AWIF qualification and QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Children and Young People) and be registered with the Social Care Wales either on appointment or following completion of the Social Care Induction Framework.
