View Vacancy -- Highways Maintenance Operative Apprentice

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council in partnership with Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council have 4 Apprenticeship posts in Highways Maintenance. Due to Apprenticeship criteria these posts are only available to those aged between 16-24.

One post will be based with Merthyr Council within the Engineering and Highways division. This post will be based at:

Unit 20

Merthyr Tydfil Industrial Park

Merthyr Tydfil

CF48 4DR

There will also be 3 Apprenticeship posts in based with Rhondda Cynon Taf Council, Highways Department. These posts will be based at:

Abercynon Depot

The Basin

Abercynon

CF45 5RR

The scheme gives you the opportunity to earn a wage whilst learning new

skills that will enhance your future employment prospects. The successful applicants may be required to attend college on day release and demonstrate the motivation and commitment required to combine on-the job training with college studies.

This is a fixed term post for a two year period and will start in October 2015.

Due to the apprenticeship entry criteria applications cannot be accepted from any applicant who has already gained a similar qualification at level 3 or above. Any such applications will not be considered.

National Minimum Wage rates are as follows:

16 – 18:          £3.79 per hour

18 – 20:          £5.13 per hour

21 and over: £6.50 per hour
