Casual Day Service Assistants are required to provide relief cover for annual leave and sickness within Adult Day Services. The successful candidates will be expected to provide cover within day centres across Rhondda Cynon Taf.

Duties will include assisting people with personal care tasks and assisting with the organisation of a variety of activities for people attending the day centre. Duties will also include acting as an escort to service users on the Divisions’ specially adapted vehicles and completion of appropriate paper work when necessary. You will be required to use a computer and have excellent written and verbal skills to maintain records and communicate effectively with individuals in receipt of the service and with health and social care professionals. Candidates for these posts will have a mature outlook and understanding of the needs of Adults. Previous experience of working with, or spending time, with older people would be an advantage.

The successful candidates will be supported to complete the Induction Framework, a programme designed to prepare you for your new role, plus there will be on-going training and supervision to carry out your work effectively. You will need to have obtained, or demonstrate a commitment to work towards, the QCF Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults).

Due to the nature of the post, you will be required to travel independently to workplace settings throughout the RCT area.
