An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join the Tourism team as a Tourism Adviser.

The Tourism Service is responsible for developing Rhondda Cynon Taf as a successful visitor destination.

Reporting directly to the Strategic Manager, this key post will support working with key partnerships to develop tourism products and services and to promote these to the local, national and international markets to not only increase domestic and international visitor numbers, but also to enhance the perception of Rhondda Cynon Taf as a ‘go to’ destination.

With domestic tourism on the rise in Rhondda Cynon Taf, a significant cultural heritage offer from attractions such as The Welsh Mining Experience and a burgeoning outdoor adventure market with the imminent arrival of Zip World Tower, Rhondda Cynon Taf is well-placed to develop into a top UK holiday destination and this is an exciting time to join us.

It is essential the individual has an understanding of Tourism within Wales and the South East Wales region. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate an understanding of Destination Management, its activities and partners and its policy context.

The successful candidate should be Educated to degree level in field of Tourism and/or demonstrate relevant experience at a senior/strategic level.  Post-graduate qualification in relevant subject and/or equivalent experience is also required.
