The Council’s 2022 Apprenticeship scheme offers exciting employment opportunities in a number of different service areas across the Council.  

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is seeking to appoint two Administrative Assistant Apprentices.  One Apprentice will be based within our Business Support Unit in Ty Elai, Williamstown.  The other post will be based within Ty Trevithick, Abercynon in our Corporate Estates department.

Both roles will provide the apprentice with the opportunity to develop the essential skills and aptitudes for a role in an administration environment. We are looking for a motivated and well-organised individual who has excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and is a real team player. (See job descriptions below)

You will work alongside experienced colleagues, gaining job-specific knowledge and skills. The scheme gives you the opportunity to earn a wage whilst learning and working towards nationally recognised professional qualifications in your chosen career path.

This is a fixed term post for a two-year period and will start in September.

You will be paid National Minimum Wage dependent on age: 

• 23 & over £9.50
• 21 - 22 £9.18
• 18 - 20 £6.83 
• Under 18 £4.81 

Due to the Apprenticeship entry criteria, applications cannot be accepted from any applicant who has already gained a similar qualification at level 3 or above in the role applied for.  For example, if you have a degree in Civil Engineering you will not be eligible to apply for a Civil Engineering apprenticeship post.  However, you could apply for any other apprenticeship post.  Any such applications will not be considered.
