View Vacancy -- Social Worker
1 X PERMANENT POST - RHONDDA COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH TEAM
We are seeking to recruit a creative, enthusiastic social worker with a sound value base, to work with people who have complex mental health needs. The post is within the Locality Mental Health Team in the Rhondda Valley.
You will be organised and able to prioritise competing job demands. You will also have a strong belief in empowering adults towards independence using the Recovery Model and be proactive in challenging discrimination.
You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team based in Pentre Municipal Office and you will have good communication skills and the ability to form effective working relationships with a range of partners. You will be expected to be conversant with relevant legislation and concepts of best practice. Knowledge of the principals underpinning the Care and Treatment Planning approach is desirable. You should be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the issues facing people who experience mental ill health and their carers.
There is regular professional supervision and you will also have the opportunity to become involved in peer supervision. An ongoing programme of training for all staff provides a diverse range of learning opportunities to meet the demands of the work and support individual professional development.
You must be suitably qualified (i.e. Diploma in Social Work or equivalent) and be registered as a Social Worker with the Care Council for Wales. An Approved Mental Health Professional qualification or a willingness to undertake this training is desirable. Additional enhanced payment will be given to candidates with the Approved Mental Health Professionals qualification and undertaking the role within the position.
Best Interest Assessors would be preferable but if not qualified as BIA assessor then you will be expected to untertake training whilst employed by RCT.
