The casual role will require the successful candidate to cover shifts across 4 children’s residential homes within Rhondda Cynon Taf. The shifts will include, days, afternoons, nights and weekend working, to cover staff absences, and increase staffing levels in line with the needs of the service. The role will also require sleep in duties where required.

While working with an experienced management team and staff teams, candidates will need to demonstrate a commitment to working with children and young people, who may have been affected by adverse childhood experiences. Successful candidates will be required to work creatively, flexibly and innovatively, in providing day to day care and support, and will be expected to undertake specific training to achieve improved outcomes for children.

The role will involve a high level of active engagement with children and young people, and applicants should be aware of the requirement to be fully participative in activities and direct work.

Successful candidates will be required to register with Social Care Wales, and undertake the QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) within 2 years of registration with Social Care Wales.

The ability to travel independently in the course of the duties required by the post.
