“Share our Values…Share our Care”

RHONDDA CYNON TAF SUPPORT @ HOME SERVICE

Have you enjoyed supporting vulnerable people in your community during these very difficult times or have you discovered skills in caring for others in their own homes?

If so and you are looking for a new job role we can help you put the two together!

We have opportunities for the right people who share our values to join our existing teams of care workers, of whom we are immensely proud.

We are a large and expanding team but work to maintain a strong ethos of togetherness and each member of staff has access to support from an experienced and substantial team of managers, assessors and professional therapists in order to both learn the role, grow in confidence and enjoy a rewarding career in care.

You can meet some of the team here!

You will provide support to an individual in order to ‘right size’ and tailor their ongoing support package. This will mean providing support to a variety of individuals who have a range of needs, workers will need to apply the most appropriate approach in order to maximise independence. Support provided by the Support@Home worker will vary from an enabling/rehabilitative person centred approach to complex moving and handling and the delivery of hands on care.

We offer this in a person’s own home or permanent place of residence, enabling individuals to do the things that are important to them and which are essential for their health and well-being.

The service operates 365 days a year and hours worked range between 7:30a.m. and 10:00 p.m. The Support@Home worker will work in accordance with the 3 week staff rota which will have a combination of early or late shifts of 5 hours duration, and the rota will be known in advance.

We are interested in hearing from people who can be dedicated, reliable and willing to learn new skills, and have the ability to use their own initiative. Successful candidates will also be supported to register with Social Care Wales and the strong partnership we have with our dedicated in- house training department ensures that learning support meets the needs of our staff on an individualised basis. We will also reimburse payment of registration fees promptly.

As you would expect staff care is central to our service and, as such, we are providing full necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and thorough risk assessments are carried out on the work environment in accordance with government guidelines.

RCT also provides a free dedicated Occupational Health Service providing a self-referral physiotherapy service as well as access to confidential counselling when things get tough personally or professionally.

You must have the ability to travel independently throughout the County Borough.

For an informal chat or simply to learn more about the role before you apply please contact Hayley Thorne or Su Lambert who will be pleased to talk to you on (01443) 425070.
