Empowering schools to improve outcomes for all learners

Associate Adviser for Languages, Literacy and Communication (LLC): International Languages

Full time permanent post to commence November 2022

Soulbury 15 – 18 plus 3 SPA

The Central South Consortium (CSC), serving the five Local Authorities of Bridgend, Cardiff, Merthyr Tydfil, Rhondda Cynon Taf, and Vale of Glamorgan, is working in partnership to deliver ambitious arrangements for school improvement through the Central South Wales Challenge. Collectively with our schools, we are determined that all children and young people, in every school, will experience equity and excellence.

We are seeking to appoint a talented middle leader with experience of developing LLC: international languages across a school. This post will be required to work with the school improvement team, schools, and local authorities to ensure CSC becomes an outstanding place for teaching, school leadership and pupils’ achievement, supporting the development of a self-improving system.

This post will support the development and implementation of the regional strategy for LLC: international languages.  Responsibilities include supporting the development of high-quality professional learning (PL) opportunities and bespoke support for schools. The post holder will collaborate with schools, Welsh Government, local authorities, regional consortia and other partner agencies related to this area.

Applications are welcomed from candidates who are excellent teachers with a proven track record in raising standards. Candidates must also be aware of national, CSC, local authority, and school priorities and what these imply for developing a high-quality education workforce.

Prospective applicants are welcome to contact Cathryn Billington-Richards for an informal discussion:
