Development Officer for Welsh Development

Full time secondment to commence 1 January 2023 until 31st August 2024

Secondment on current salary up to a maximum of £48,849 

The Central South Consortium (CSC), serving the five Local Authorities of Bridgend, Cardiff, Merthyr Tydfil, Rhondda Cynon Taf, and Vale of Glamorgan, is working in partnership to deliver ambitious arrangements for school improvement through the Central South Wales Challenge. Collectively with our schools, we are determined that all children and young people, in every school, will experience equity and excellence.  

We are seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic teacher with experience of successfully leading the Welsh Language Charter across a whole school. This post will be required to work with the school improvement team, schools, and local authorities to ensure CSC becomes an outstanding place for teaching, school leadership and pupils’ achievement, supporting the development of a self-improving system.

This post will support the national Welsh language strategy, Cymraeg 2050: A million Welsh speakers through implementational of the regional strategy for Welsh Development.  Responsibilities include supporting the development of high-quality professional learning (PL) opportunities and bespoke support for schools. The post holder will collaborate with practitioners, schools and other stakeholders related to this area.

We believe this to be an excellent development opportunity, as a Development Officer, you will play a crucial part in contributing to the achievement of national and regional priorities for Welsh.
