A 6-month temporary position to cover maternity leave is available in Cwm Taf Morgannwg’s highly successful Social Care Workforce Development services. You will be joining a dynamic staff group as we continue to meet the workforce needs of the social care and early years and childcare workforces across the statutory, voluntary and independent sector.

The key objectives of the role are to:

  • Provide a regional point of contact for Social Care Wales to facilitate the effective roll-out of a national attraction, recruitment and retention campaign for social care, early years and childcare
  • Provide a resource within the region to continually promote careers in social care, early years and childcare

You will be a member of a close working team and have a unique opportunity to work in a wide variety of settings within the organisations and partner agencies. In particular, there will be an expectation of raising a positive profile and clear career pathways of social care and early years and childcare within schools, colleges, higher education, the Department of Work and Pensions and with other key stakeholders.

You will be required to hold a recognised, relevant health and social care or early year’s qualification as specified in the Social Care Wales Qualification Framework and have three years’ experience of working in a social care/early years and childcare setting. You will also have experience of planning and implementing projects.

With a sound knowledge of current policy and practice in relation to children’s and adult services, you will also need excellent communication, networking and team working skills.

There may be an opportunity for this to be considered as a secondment for internal staff subject to management agreement.
