We are looking to recruit a Senior Residential Child Care Practitioner, for our home in Beddau. The home provides long term care for 5 young people between the ages of 11-17. The home works with children and young people who have experienced trauma and adverse childhood experiences, which has resulted in emotional and behavioural difficulties.

As a Senior Residential Child Care Practitioner, the role will require you to support and work alongside the Registered Manager in overseeing the development of staff and young people in placement, formulating and updating Personal Plans and Risk Assessments, carrying out supervisions and meeting the training needs of the staff team, to ensure continued compliance for registration. 

The successful candidate will need to have excellent communication and time management skills as you will be required to attend meetings and prepare detailed reports. You should have the capacity to work under pressure and take a problem solving approach to your work. You will need to be able to prioritise your own and others workloads, which will require the successful candidate to be self-motivated. You will also need to be able to motivate, direct and delegate to others where necessary.

The position will also require an ability to be responsive to the service needs. This may include changes to shift patterns and on call duties.

Requirements:

QCF Level 3 Health and Social Care (children and young people)

Or Predecessor Qualifications

Be registered with Social Care Wales

Knowledge of RISCA and related Child Care Legislation.

Knowledge of Trauma Recovery Model of Care

Knowledge of Child Protection
