We are currently looking to employ a Residential Child Care Support Worker to work part time at Nantgwyn Short Break Respite Home in Aberdare.

1 x 21 hour post

The post holder will work with vulnerable children with additional needs by providing support to sustain routine in a nurturing environment, and support young people to develop social skills, within the local community and participate in activities.

The successful applicant will be accountable to the Registered Manager for the day-to-day arrangements of the young person’s care plan.

 The specific responsibilities of the post include;

  • To prepare for and participate in planning and review meetings.
  • To work with multi agencies
  • To share in the practical activities necessary to maintain the home., such as cooking, cleaning and all duties that come within running a home.
  • To promote the well being of residents by encouraging a healthy lifestyle, educational attainments and stimulating leisure activities.
  • You must be prepared to be flexible as the role will involve shift work including weekends and sleep-in duties. 

You will be expected to hold or be prepared to work towards QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Children and Young People) and be registered with the Care Council for Wales either on appointment or following completion of the All-Wales Induction Framework.
