We are currently looking to employ a Residential Child Care Practitioner, for 37 hours per week, at Beddau Community Home. The home provides twenty four hour care for 5 vulnerable children and young people between the ages of 11-17.

The successful candidate will be working alongside an experienced team who work in a trauma informed way, delivering care and support to children and young people who have experienced adverse childhood experiences, which have impacted on their development and behaviour. The successful candidate will need to be resilient and evidence they can work with children and young people who present with challenge.

The specific responsibilities of the post include, promoting the well-being of children and young people by encouraging a healthy lifestyle, educational attainments and stimulating leisure activities. The successful candidate will be involved in preparing and implementing the children and young people's Personal Plans, preparing for and participating in Planning and Review meetings, and preparing in the practical activities necessary to maintain the home.

The role involves shift work, which comprises days (7.30-3.30), afternoons(3pm-11pm),on a rota basis. Candidates will also be required  to sleep-in on a rota basis as well as weekend and bank holiday working.

The successful candidate will be supported to achieve the All Wales induction Framework, for registration, and to progress to the Level 3 health and Social Care Award, if not already held.
