This is an exciting and challenging time for Local Government as it seeks to continue to provide high quality services alongside delivering value for money. The role of local government in shaping the future of local communities will be more important than ever.

Working in Local Government offers some of the toughest and most intellectually stimulating challenges, as we provide services that affect thousands of lives in many different ways.

The Council is once again preparing to recruit to its Graduate Programme that provides fantastic opportunities to work in a vibrant environment, learn new and transferable skills, meet people from a range of backgrounds and develop a professional career in Rhondda Cynon Taf.

The role will provide on-the-job training and support, a competitive salary, the option of joining the Council’s Pension Scheme, 25 days annual leave (in a full year) and the opportunity to access other benefits such as subsidised membership fees for Council run Leisure Centres within Rhondda Cynon Taf and a staff benefits scheme.

We are seeking a graduate to work within our Digital Improvement Office and welcome applications from graduates with a 2.2 degree qualification in an appropriate IT qualification. Examples include:

BSc (Hons) Computer Science / Computing, BSc (Hons) Computer Applications Development, BSc (Hons) Information Communication Technology.

The successful candidate will support and deliver the Council's Digital Transformation Strategy by researching best practice in the field of ICT whilst supporting, and driving the implementation of new and innovative ways of working across the organisation that deliver tangible business improvements for the organisation where technology is the key enabler.

Following initial shortlisting, for those invited onto the next stage there will be assessments and individual interviews, which will take place during September. Due to the high volume of application forms these dates are not flexible but are subject to change.
